FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What you need to know

  • Why CFC?

At Chattanooga FC, we’re committed to holistic development. That means developing not just better athletes, but better people. We focus on technical ability, game understanding, character, leadership and love for the sport.

Through our athlete development pathways, we provide clear and consistent programming that ensures transparency and accountability.

We are the region’s technical leaders. Our coaching staff brings top-level expertise, modern methodology and a consistent club-wide curriculum to help players reach their potential.

Above all, we are people first. Every decision we make is centered around the experience, well-being and long-term growth of our athletes and families - and that’s what sets us apart.

  • What programs does CFC Youth offer?

Chattanooga FC Youth offers a variety of programs for athletes of all ages. Head to our programs tab for all of the information!

  • How much does it cost to play for Chattanooga FC Youth?

The cost to play for a CFC Youth Team varies depending on the program you are participating in.

Check out our program overviews for current fees.

  • Is my child guaranteed a spot on a team?

While we cannot guarantee a spot on a specific team, our goal is for every player to have a place within CFCY. During tryouts, we evaluate each athlete to identify the best “team fit” within our pathway. As players enter the U13–U19 ages, placement becomes more intentional based on the competitive level of the leagues in which each team participates.

  • We are new to the area or currently play for another local organization and want to join CFC Academy in the middle of a season. Is that possible?

It depends on a few things. Please complete this form and a coach will be in touch to discuss your options.

  • Does my child have to attend all tryouts to earn a spot on a team?

All potential players must attend at least one of the tryouts to be considered for a spot on the team. If there is a conflict in the dates, please make sure to contact the Program Director to discuss the conflict.

  • How will teams be selected?

Teams will be selected through a comprehensive evaluation process that ensures athletes are placed in the environment that best matches their developmental needs. Internal players are evaluated using their full body of work, including season-long performance, participation in Kickarounds, and performance at official Tryouts. External players are assessed based on their performance in Kickarounds and Tryouts alone. After all evaluations are complete, coaches and directors collaborate to create rosters that appropriately challenge, support, and develop every player for the 2025/26 season.

  • Which facilities does CFC Youth utilize?

Most training sessions take place at Camp Jordan Park in East Ridge and Grimes Soccer Complex in North Chattanooga. We aim to hub teams at consistent locations to create routine and convenience for families.

While weather and scheduling can occasionally require changes, we do our best to keep teams training in the same place as often as possible.

  • What is the difference between Chattanooga FC Youth and Chattanooga Football Club?

Chattanooga Football Club was created in 2009 and is the city's professional soccer team. It competes in MLS NEXT Pro in a year-round schedule. The team has had great success over the last few years and through the team, the city of Chattanooga is showcased on the world soccer stage. Chattanooga FC Youth grew out of Chattanooga Football Club’s desire to train and develop the youth of Chattanooga and foster their love for the game of soccer.
